Protecting privacy matters to Ministères Enseignemoi. This policy governs how we collect, use, process, communicate and retain the personal information of visitors and users of emcitv.com, emci.org and levangile.com. By using our sites or services, you consent to these practices.

2. Information we collect
- Contact details and identifiers: name, address, email, phone number.
- Transaction and payment information: method, date, time, amount, billing postal code (PayPal or Stripe payments are stored with those providers).
- Information you provide voluntarily: forms, donations, job applications (tax receipts: name, postal address, email, donation amount).
- Automatically collected information: IP address, pages visited, visit dates and times, browser type, operating system, approximate geolocation to identify regional content.
3. How we use it
- Operate, maintain, improve and develop the sites and services (TV channel, Bible-study tools, audio broadcasts, live streaming, mobile app, replays).
- Collect donations and issue tax receipts.
- Send messages, updates and security alerts; answer enquiries.
- Market with prior consent; collect feedback; produce research, analyses and statistics.
- Detect and prevent fraud, errors, spam, abuse and security incidents.
4. Sharing with third parties
Information is shared only with employees and providers who need it (Scaleway hosting, Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, streaming partners YouTube, MyCanal/Canal+, Dailymotion, Eutelsat…, Typeform, Cognito Forms, AWeber, GoCardless, PayPal, Stripe, Google Workspace). Each provider commits in writing to confidentiality and must destroy the information at the end of its contract. Before any communication outside Québec, a privacy impact assessment is carried out and written agreements bind the protections.
EMCI may also disclose information where the law requires it: public-authority requests, court proceedings, protection of rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction (merger, reorganisation…), in strict compliance with Québec and federal law.
5. Consent
EMCI obtains manifest, free and informed consent, requested for specific purposes in clear language. Express consent is required for sensitive information. By using our websites or sending your information by email, you consent to this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time with reasonable notice; withdrawal may limit some features.
6. Retention
Information is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to applicable law and legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, prosecution). Contact the data protection officer for specific retention periods.
7. Your rights
- Be informed about the personal information we hold, use and share.
- Access it and obtain copies; have it corrected when incomplete, ambiguous or inaccurate.
- Withdraw or modify your consent at any time.
- Request de-indexing and cessation of dissemination where the law allows.
- Receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).
- Be informed of any privacy incident presenting a risk of serious harm.
- File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information.
8. Security
EMCI implements physical, technological and organisational measures: information-governance policies, incident-response procedures, secure servers (SSL), encryption of sensitive data, access controls, backups and monthly security audits. As no measure guarantees absolute security, contact the officer immediately if you believe your information is compromised.
9. Individuals under 14
EMCI does not knowingly collect information from individuals under 14. Any parent or guardian who finds a child has submitted information without consent may request its deletion.
10. Changes and applicable law
EMCI may amend this policy at any time in accordance with the law; the revised version is published with its update date. Continued use of the sites after it takes effect constitutes acceptance. The laws of Canada and Québec govern this policy.
